The provided bar chart compares children in three different ages ( 5-8 years old, 9-11 years old, and 12-16 years old) in terms of their participations in four types of activities ( watching TV, reading, playing computer games, and riding bikes) in Australia in 2018. Units are measured in percentages. From an overall perspective, while a large amount of children take part in watching TV, least proportions of children in all categories spent their time for playing computer games.
Starting with watching TV, approximately 95% of Australian early children engaged in this leisure activity, compared to 80% of middle and late children in 2018. Interestingly, in reading the percentages of 9-11 and 12-16 years old children were also similar with around 70%, in comparison with 65% of 5-8 years old.
As far as playing computer games is concerned, the proportions of Australian early and middle children taking part in this activity were at 60% and 58%, respectively, considerably higher than late ones at 40%, the slowest point of the chart. The percentage of 12-16 years old children participation was at just above 80% in riding bikes, while 68% of 5-8 years old children and 62% of 9-11 years old children do the same.
