In general, watching television was the highest participation proportion among all categories whereas playing computer games had the lowest figure during the given period.
To begin with, the figure for watching television showed a marked difference between the 5 to 8 age range and older age brackets . To be more precise, the youngest age group accounted for considerably over 90% while both the 9 to 11 and 12 to 16 shared the same proportion of participants, at roughly 80%. Conversely, in the figure for reading, while children in the 9 to 15 age bracket was at the top of the list, at approximately 70%, 5-8-year-old children contributed just over 60%.
In the case of children aged 12 to 16, the figure for playing computer games recorded the lowest percentage among all the categories, at roughly 40%. By contrast, the proportion of riding bikes was higher compared to other age brackets, slightly over three-fifths . A similar pattern was observed in the proportion of bicycle riding and computer games usage among younger age ranges .
