Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were considerable upward trends in the birthplaces of both Total and Asia, while the birthplace of Ukraine saw a substantial fall over the period. However, other countries show fluctuating trends.
Looking at the details, as regards Total, births came in at just less than a third of a percent in 1976; then there was a sharp fall to 23 percent in 1986. In the next five years after that point, it increased dramatically to 33 percent in 2011. If we look at Asia, the trend was similar. Having risen considerably from 3 to nearly 15 percent between 1976 and 2011, the birthplace went up to 35 percent in that year.
In contrast, births in Other and UK places went in the opposite direction. In 1976, this figure stood at 11 percent. After that, despite falling steeply to 8 percent in 1986, the figure then made a rapid climb to just less than 15 percent in 2006, after which there is a possibility of a decline in the coming years. Initially, the number for Asia was 3 percent in 1976. After that, the graph improved substantially over the next thirty-five years, and in 2011 it stood at 15 percent respectively.
