The bar chart illustrates the proportion of men, women and children who consumed five portions of fruits and vegetables each day in the UK over the span of 8 years from 2001 to 2008.
Overall, it can be seen that women were always at the peak over the span of 8 years. Further more, 2006 was the highest consumption year by both men and women. Whereas, Children consumed the most in the year 2007.
From the year 2001 to 2004, the consumption by women gradually increased from over 20% to about 30%. Whereas, men and children were at a steady rate over 10 and 15% respectively but rose above 20 and 15% respectively in 2004.
Over the following years, women continued to peak till 2006 over 30% and declined about 30% from 2007 to 2008. Although, men were at a steady rate above 25% in 2006 and 2007 but slightly dropped about 25% in 2008. Whereas, children gradually rose from about 20% to 25% from 2006 to 2007 respectively but declined below 25% in 2008.
