Overall, it is obvious that while brown, white and rye bead saw an increase, there were wild fluctuations in the price of wholegrain. Additionally, brow bread experienced the most dramatic climb in price.
In 2001, the highest price was seen in wholegrain bead with approxiamately 0.8 euro per 800 kilograms, while the other types only cost 0.6 euros each. In 2002, the cost of brown and white bread increased dramatically, 1.4 and 1 respectively. The figure for wholegrain bread reaching a peak of 1.8 euros, whereas the price of rye bread witnessed a slight decline.
From 2003 onwards, the cost of white and rye breads, meanwhile, underwent a marginal growth of nearly 0.3 and 0.2 euro correspondingly. At the same time, the price of brown bread fluctuated wildly between 1.4 and 1.6 euros throughout the period. After seeing a plummet to a low of 0.7 euro, the cost of wholegrain bread recorded a recovery to somewhere in the vicinity of 0.7 euro in 2005.
