The charts below show the percentage of females going into higher education in five different countries for the years 1980 and 2015.
Overall, it can be seen that the proportion of women going into higher education increased in all five countries over the course of the period. Australia had the highest percentage in both years, whereas South Korea had the lowest percentage.
In 1980, Australia had the highest percentage, with almost 60% of women going into higher education. In contrast, the percentage of South Korean women going into higher education was the lowest. The percentage in France was lower than in Australia, with around 50% and 58%, respectively. The USA demonstrated 38% of females going into higher education. Likewise, the UK presented 35%.
In 2015, the percentage of women going into higher education in South Korea was nowhere near as high as in Australia. The USA revealed more significant statistics than South Korea. Both the USA and Australia showed the highest percentage of women going into higher education, with around 60%. France was almost as high as the UK.
