Overall, there was a significant rise in the number of women in the UK, USA and South Korea throughout the period in question, as opposed to the percentage of females in Australia that remained the same. The amount of female school-leavers going into higher education in France had increased marginally in the following years.
By 2015, the percentage of women going into higher education in UK and USA had reached almost 60%, surging by 30% and 20% respectively. Over a thirty-year period, the proportion of females pursuing higher education in South Korea had doubled and hit 30%.
However, at the end of the 2015, the figures for women going into universities in Australia remained unchanged and attained the highest point among five countries, around 60%. From 1980 to 2015, there was a slight soar in the amount of students that are females in France, which had grown only by 5%.
