Overall, Internet usage increased across all age groups between 2010 and 2017. In both years, the younger age brackets had the highest level of Internet usage, whereas the older groups consistently recorded the lowest rates and remained the least active users throughout the period.
In 2010, the number of Internet users aged 16-24 ranked the first in terms of usage, reaching nearly 100%, followed by the 25-34 age group at around 90 %. In contrast, older age group categories had significantly lower Internet usage, with the 65-74 group recording just under 7 %. Meanwhile, 75% of individuals aged 35-44 used the Internet, which was about 5 % higher than the figure for the 45-54 group, and twice as high as the rate for those aged 55-64.
By 2017, the 16-24 group reached full Internet adoption, peaking at 100 %. Usage rates among the 25-34 and 35-44 age demographics showed almost similar pattern with 99 % and 97 % respectively. Internet adoption among the 45-54 and 55-64 groups increased significantly, with the former reaching approximately 80 %, compared to 62 % for the latter one. Although, the proportion of internet users aged 65-74 rose steadly from 7 % to 30 %, this group still remained the least active users among other age brackets.
