The two charts illustrate the different kinds of internet connections as well as compare the internet speed measured in megabytes per second (MBPS) in five cities in Australia from 2005 to 2015.
Overall, Sydney is recorded with the highest internet speed both in 2005 and 2015, while broadband accounts for the majority of internet connection used in Australia in 2010 with more than half of the proportion.
The bar chart shows that Sydney reached 14 and 13 megabytes per second in 2015 and 2005, respectively. Meanwhile, Melbourne experienced a sharp increase over the two periods from 2mpbs to approximately 6mbps. There was also a considerable rise of internet connection Perth from more than 4mpbs to 5mpbs. However, Brisbane and Adelaide remained below 4mpbs in both years.
On the other hand, broadband constituted the the largest percentage with 62.09% users in 2010. In contrast, 35.53% Aussies still prefered mobile data while 1.14% people used dial up as their internet connections. Lastly, only less than 1% of the population has no internet connection.
