Overall, among all modes, cars had the highest figures in terms of distances in both years. Meanwhile, the opposite was true for taxis.
The total distance of all modes saw a significant increase from 4740 kilometers (in 1985) to 6475 kilometers ( in 2000). Car was the most popular kind of transportation with 3199 kilometers in 1985, growing dramatically to 4806 kilometers in 2000.In spite of being the least common, taxis also experienced a similar trend as cars, increasing by 29 kilometers in 2000. In addition, a similar trend was also witnessed in trains, long distance bus, and other types. The figure for long distance bus in 2000 was nearly twice times than that in 2000, at 124 kilometers, which was lower than trains and others, with 366 kilometers and 585 kilometers in the same year, respectively.
By contrast, a decline was seen in the remaining categories: walking, bicycle, and local bus. Meanwhile, walking and bicycle experienced a slight drop of 18 kilometers and 10 kilometers, respectively, there was a significant drop in the data for local bus, from 429 kilometers( in 1985) to 274 kilometers( in 2000).
