In contrast, there was a moderate escalation of around 2% in the proportion of jobless people in Australian urban areas.
In the subsequent two quarters, the unemployment proportion in Australian rural areas grew slightly to around 5.2% before remaining unchanged over the period. Likewise, the percentage of out-of-work residents in urban areas saw a sharp increase from above 2% to around 5%, despite fluctuations, over the period.
