The bar chart compares the expenditure variations of people in one European country for various services in 1998 and 2008. Overall, the most earnings were allocated to buying electronic goods and clothing in both years;however, all the other sectors experienced downward trend.
In 1998, the biggest share of money 16% was spent on electronic goods, while clothing made up 12% from the total income. Notably, there was only 2% disparity between holiday spending (8%) and eating out (6%). Lastly, the money which was directed to buying newspaper and magazines and going to the cinema showed similar expenditure pattern as 3%.
In 2008, electronics and clothing remained the largest expenditure sectors among other categories, the former increased to 20% and the latter rose to 18%. Holiday expenses decreased to 5%, whereas eating out remained unchanged 6%. Finally, the smallest percentage (1%) was responsible for visiting cinema and purchasing newspaper and magazines.
