The charts compare the dairy production of the top three world manufacturers in 2012.
Overall, the EU produced the largest amounts of milk and cheese products the year of 2012. Additionally, more milk and cheese products were manufactured than that of butter and milk powder in this year.
Looking at the details, producing 142,970 MT of milk, the EU led the milk production as well as dairy production generally in 2012. It was followed by India and the United States, which manufactured 127,000 and 90,038 MT, respectively. It was noticeable to note that the EU was also the top one producer in terms of cheese production in the year examined, at 7,120 MT. The United States and Brazil followed behind with much smaller figures in the same year.
Regarding remaining categories, Asian countries tended to rank the biggest producers for them. Specifically, India manufactured around 4500 MT of butter, much
higher than the amounts for the EU and the United States, which produced just 2,040 and 810 MT, in that order. The largest amount of milk powder products belonged to China, with 1,200 MT. While New Zealand was the second biggest manufacturer with 1,110 MT, the EU ranked third with the figure of 770 MT.
