The given two pie charts show the proportions of language proficiency other than English, from American students at a university of United State in 2005 and 2015.
Overall, Spanish was the most spoken language, whereas German had the least proportion in both years.
Among the six sectors, no additional language spoken other than English shared the largest percentage with 45% in 2005. Followed by Spanish with 18%, which then increased to 29% in 2015 while no additional language fall to 30%, almost sharing the same with Spanish.
Second well used language, French 8% in 2005, grew slightly around 2% and reached to 10% in 2015. Another language sector with 10% in 2005, grew to 14% in 2015. Conversely, the share of two additional languages with 14% in 2005, fall to 12% in 2015. Among all six sectors, German was the smallest segment of the chart, which remained unchanged in both 2005 and 2015 with 5% of the student population.
