The charts compares the trends among Australian and New Zealand people when shopping online in 2012 regarding the websites they used and their motivation.
As an overview, it can be seen that both Australian and New Zealand consumers preferred local websites to international ones, while the primary reason is the cost of purchases.
According to the pie graphs, the majority of both groups of consumers purchased products through both local and international sites, tough the figure for Australian was slightly greate than that of New Zealand (72% compared to 65%). Furthermore, local websites we more popular compared to international sites in two countries. Particularly, almost the quarter of the Australian (20%) preffered buying items from local sites. This figure is more than the number for international ones (8%)
Concerning the table, the motivation behind the use of online shopping were the lower prices compared to physical stores. In addition, more than half of the customers reporting so in both countries. This is followed by convenience, with 24% for Australia and 22% for New Zealand. The figures showed that almost the one-fifth of the consumers chose online shopping for the quality of the products in both countries. Other considerations represented an equal proportion for both groups at 5%.
