The pie chart illustrates how a nation’s share of energy produced from various resources changed between 1985 and 2003.
Overall, hydro remained constant and was the only material that didn’t exhibit any oscillations all other materials were remade, oil was used the most and showed the highest percentage of usage.
However, in 1985, oil accounted for 52% of all uses; in contrast, in 2003, nuclear and coal showed some shifts and switched positions in terms of the number of uses, with 22% going to nuclear and 8% going to coal, while other renewables accounted for 1%.
As I indicated above, the usage of oil drastically declined in 2003 it decreased by 39% for 52% of the oil—but natural gas showed a large gain of 23%. In contrast, the other renewable energy climbed by 4%.
In conclusion, the statistics showed that, although hydro and nuclear power shifted and used less other natural gas, oil remained the leading energy source in 1985 compared to 2003.
