The pie charts depict the typical proportion in meals of three types of nutrients (sodium, saturated fat and added sugars) which have an influence on health if eaten frequently in America.
In general, three types of nutrients in breakfast take up the lowest consumption. By contrast, dinner has sodium and saturated fats higher than others, whereas added sugar in snacks is consumed most.
Looking at the chart in more detail, the figure for added sugar in light meals takes up the highest proportion with 42%, followed by dinner with 23%. While, breakfast and lunch consumed this type of nutrient over 15%.
Turning to the remaining data, 43% sodium and 37% saturated fat are eaten most by dinner whereas there is over 25% sodium and saturated fat in breakfast. The percentage of sodium in the morning is the same as that of snacks. Americans often eat 21% and 16% saturated fat in light meals and breakfast respectively.
