The charts provide information about three types of nutrients: sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars consumed in meals in the USA.
Overall, based on the figures, while breakfast constantly contains the lowest amount of each nutrient, dinner broadly has the largest amount. Moreover, lunch and snacks contain nearly all substances moderately, except for added sugar, of which snacks contain the largest portion.
To begin with, the largest portions of the sodium and added sugar charts are about 40%, assigned to dinner and snacks, respectively. Additionally, dinner has the largest portion of saturated fat as well, with 37%. Snacks’ share of sodium and saturated fat is 14% and 21%, respectively.
Furthermore, based on the data, breakfast takes the lowest share, with less than 20% throughout all charts. Although lunch has a share of between 20% and 30% for both sodium and saturated fat, the value decreases to 19% for added sugar.
