The graphs demonstrate the propotion of men and women in age from 60 to 64 in employment in Australia, Japan, USA and Belgium in 1970 and 2000. I will summaries data, report the main features and compare some information.
As can be seen from the charts, there was 47% employed men and 19% women in Australia in 2000, while in 1970 it was 74% and 18%, respectively. In 1970 in Japan the percentage of men and women who were in employment accounted for 84% and 43% and then it fell to 76% and 40% in 2000. There was 55% employed men and 38% employed women in USA in 2000 and in 1970 it was 73% and 36%, respectively. In Belgium 7% women and 19% men aged 60-64 were in employment in 2000 and in 1970 there were 8% women and 79% men.
It is noticeable that in 1970 in all countries percentage of employed men was much greater than in 2000. In Belgium the number of women in employment was much less than in the other countries. We can see that propotion of employed women fluctuated a little during the period, while the percentage of men varied greatly.
