The pie charts illustrate statistics about the percentage of students taking numerous courses at an adult education facility in 1985 and this year.
Overall, the rate of students taking art and modern languages has declined over the years, while the opposite is true for cooking classes, and dance participation remained consistent as well. Additionally, during the present year, history and music courses have been removed to make room for technology-related ones like IT.
In 1985, nearly a quarter of students took modern languages, consisting of French, German, and Spanish, making it the most common class to be taken by most. Fitness and dance, and art came in second and third respectively, with the formal being 22% and the latter being 17%. Local history and culinary accounted for a comparable 15% and 14% respectively, while music appreciation had the lowest percentage, with only 8% of students taking an interest in it.
Currently, IT has taken over as the course with the most enrolment, with a figure of 27%, while modern languages accounted for only 17%. Fitness and dance has maintained the same proportion of students, and the percentage of students taking cookery has increased to 19%. Art, on the other hand, had gone through a slight decrease of around 2%. Furthermore, music appreciation and local history no longer remain in the curriculum.
