The two pie charts highlights the number of volunteers of various organizations, as percentages, during 2008 in relation to 2014.
The organizations includes environmental, art, sports, health care, education and others. In the first year, while the largest percentage of volunteers are from educational institutions unlike the heath care organizations, accounting for the lowest amount of volunteers. However, over the years, volunteers in environmental sector grew while healthcare still remained with the least percentage.
In 2008, the education sector accounts for the highest percentage of almost a quarter of volunteers, followed by environmental organizations with 21%, art accounting for 18%, sports and others equally at 15% and health care with the lowest percent of 7%.
Six years later, the amount of helpers at the environmental organizations surpasses the educational institutions, becoming the largest sector and reaching almost one-third of the total volunteers. Subsequent to this, the proportion of volunteers among sports increased by 10% whereas number of service participants among educational, art, others, and healthcare dropped to 17%, 12%, 9% and 8% respectively.
Overall, education was initially leading in terms of community service before being surpassed by environmental teams. At the same time, health care remained consistent throughout both years, holding the lowest percentage of attendance in service responsibility. However, the sector that faced significant growth in participants was sports, with a 10% growth and being responsible for a quarter of the total amount of helpers. Conversely, education witness the highest drop in volunteers by 8% resulting in 17% in 2014.
