The charts give information on the proportion of voluntary work between 2008 and 2014. Overall, the percentage of environmental charities was higher compared to the others in 2008 and 2014. In contrast, the population of health care workers was the lowest.
Firstly, the trend of charity workers attending environmental and sports volunteer organizations in 2008 and 2014. The number of environmental volunteers rose strongly from 21% to nearly 30%. Similarly, the number of sports charities also increased quickly, from 15% in 2008 to just a quarter after six years. However, the proportion of health care workers was erratic, at around one in ten between 2008 and 2014.
On the other hand, the trend of educational, art, and other volunteer organizations decreased between 2008 and 2014. The number of educational workers declined from approximately 25% to under a fifth. Similarly, the percentage of other charities also fell from 15% to nearly 10%. The proportion of art workers dropped from 18% in 2008 to just one in ten in 2014.
