The bar charts provide information about the proportion of men and women who had driving license in one particular European country in every 5 years.
Overall, it is clear that, regarding rate of men and women with driving license in total, rate of men experienced an upward trend whereas women’s rate was increased slowly by the end of the period. In terms of percentage of young drivers, men rate was significantly high in both 1996 and 2006, while women rate decreased noticeably by 2006.
Looking at the details of total rate of men and women, men started at 70% meanwhile women rate significantly lower at about 30%. By 1991, both men and women rate increased at 75% and 44%. At the end of the period, figure for men reached at 80% while women’s rate was twice as high as the initial rate.
In 1996, there was higher proportion of young male drivers between 17 and 20 meanwhile rate of female young drivers was significantly lower at 50% and 30%, respectively. By 2006, proportion of both male and female drivers decreased moderately at about 45% and 20%, correspondingly.
