The charts given show us information for the period from 1976 to 2006 about percentage of men and women that had driving license, and what were the numbers of male and female young drivers in 1996 and 2006 in one of European countries.
The overall trend for getting the documents was a rise for both genders, with men holding a dominant number. Percentage of male drivers was nearly double the one of women’s, and still, in 10 years both numbers saw a mere decrease.
To begin with the first chart, we were given information about every fifth year, starting 1976. The lowest percentage of men and women that owned a driving license was in 1976 at 70% and 30% respectfully. Through the years percentage for male was increasing steadily, reaching 80% in 2006. On the other hand, number of women on the roads was increasing more rapidly and eventually hit 60% in the last year, which is double the number at the starting point.
Regarding second chart, only two years are given: 1996 and 2006. It is easy to say that half of all male youngsters (50%) and approximately a third of women had a driving license in 1996. In a span of 10 years percentage of boys decreased by 5%, while for the female young drivers the drop was significant 10%. These changes resulted in lower number of drivers aged 17-20 in 2006.
