Overall, the records highlight five types of spending patterns, as: meal, utility, communication, leasure, and other. The UK’s local households have a trend to spend finances on entertaiment while having a rest, both in 1980 and 2008. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s families spend money mostly for meal in 1980 and for utility payments in 2008. The minimum is spent fot the other types in both countries, over the whole period of time.
To begin with UK, leasure and utility bills take the the most part of it at 27% and 26% accordingly, in 1980. Similarly, in 2008 the trend stays on the same level of spending patterns, but at 34% and 28%. In addition, food and drink were consumed at 23% in 1980, then it changed to 13% by 2008. Also, transport spendings have changes, as taking 15% in 1980, and just decreasing by 1% in 2008.
To follow with New Zealand, familie’s money are allocated for meal and utility at 29% and 27% accordingly, in 1980. In contrast, the records change visa-versa as utility bills at 31% and food&drink at 25% in 2008. The Transport and leasure spendings are almost at the same range from 16% till 18% over the 28 years.
