The given charts depicts different kinds of transport that people use to go to one university from 2004 to 2009.
In general, there was an increasing demand in the consumption of bicycle, bus, train and walking, while a considerable decline was seen in car. Car and bus generally made up the biggest percentage of the total, while train was the least preferable choice for student.
To begin with, car’s use was the top-figure of the total in 2004 with 51%, before its data dropped dramatically to 28% after 5 years, which was overtaken by the figure for bus with 46% during the same period. In a lesser extent, the number of students using bicycle also experienced gradual increase, with 9% in 2004 and 16% 5 years later.
Regarding walking, this kind of transport witnessed a slight increase throughout the time frame, with 4% in 2004 before it grew slightly to 6% in 2009. Finally, the use of train accounted for the least proportion of the total with 3% in 2004 despite its negligible rise to 4% in 2009, which was still 2% lower than the figure for walking during the same period.
