The pie charts show three different of age groups of Yemen and Italy in 2000 and projections for 2050.
Overall, ageing population in both Yemen and Italy is expected to grow. Yemen had much younger population than Italy in 2000, and it predicted to experience the same the trend in 2050.
In 2000, around half of Yemen was people aged under 14 years old (50.1%), which was followed by the proportion of people aged from 15 and 59 years old with 46.3%. The remaining 3.6% was people aged 60 and over. However, in 2050, the percentage of people aged 15 to 59 years old is projected to take the lead with 57.3%, and the figure of people aged under 14 years is predicted to 37%, and the oldest aged group could be increase to 5.7%.
In comparison, the majority of Italy population were people aged from 15 to 59 years old, which made up for almost two-thirds (61.6%). The oldest aged group accounted for 24.1%, but it was predicted to double it size with 42.3% in 2050 while the youngest aged and the middle aged groups are expected to decrease to 11.5% and 46.2% respectively. The older population of Italy were in stark constast to Yemen in 2000 and it could be the same in 2050.
