The graph shows the price per kg of bananas in four countries in the period from 1994 to 2004. Overall, Japan has the highest price per kilogram of bananas, meanwhile the USA has the lowest price. Notably, in Japan price per kg of bananas fluctuated most over this period.
In Japan price started from USD 2.00 in 1994, and had dramatic rise to USD 2.80 next year, before falling again to USD 2.00. For the next 5 years price was slightly fluctuating without noticeable changes, just to fall to USD 1.50. And in last 3 years price of bananas in Japan slight rise each year which led to USD 2.50 at the end, yet having the most expensive bananas. In contrast, prices in France did not show overall growth, but also had not become cheaper. The price per kg of bananas was slight changes, until 1999, when it had big decline, followed by big rise. At the end in 2004 price came back to it starting mark.
Price of bananas in Germany didn’t have any dramatic fluctuations over this period. Prices of bananas in Germany started from USD 1.50, after it had rise and fall, that neutralise each other, in next 2 years. In next years price was just fluctuating up and down, ending with price of USD 1.30 per kg of bananas. Similarly prices of bananas in USA did not have any big changes. Prices of bananas started from USD 0.80, before big rise to USD 1.20 in one year. Price of bananas then did not have any even small changes leaving price at USD 1.30. At the end USA still had the lowest prices on bananas.
