The line graph shows how much kilogram of bananas cost in four countries from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, while the price in Japan was significantly higher compared to other countries, in the USA this characteristic was the lowest most of the time. Despite the initial stability, the cost in France was changing very sharply.

Despite some fluctuations, it was able to save his leading position almost every year. Notably, the number in France started very stable (about $1, 7 per kilogram). In 2000 the banana prices got decreased sharply to almost $1, 4, but it managed to recover and even overtake the leading position in 2001. Despite the fact that it was not able to maintain its peak and dropping to the last position, it managed to rise and return its initial second position.
In contrast, Germany and the USA did not witness sharp fluctuations. In the beginning of the period the price for kilogram bananas in Germany and USA was $1, 4 and $0, 8 respectively. Despite the small rises, the price in Germany was slightly decreasing. Meanwhile, in the USA, banana prices started with sharp rise form $0, 8 to almost to the same price as in Germany ($1, 2) in 1995. From 1999 onwards, the cost for kilogram of banana managed to be stable at approximately 1, 1 US dollars.
