The diagram illustrates how electricity is produced with the help of geothermal energy.
Overall, there are five steps in the process. Starting from pumping down the cold water to the geothermal zone, to producing electricity from the generators and sending it to the electrical towers.
In the first step, the cold water is collected in a tank and then pumped down to 4.5kms through the injection well. Next the water goes through hot rocks in the geothermal zone where it is heated up. Then the water reaches the production well following which it is pumped up on the surface of land in a condenser.
The last two steps are carried out above the ground. First, steam is produced by the hot water in the condenser. This steam is then passed through a narrow pipe to the turbine which makes it rotate and generate energy. This energy is passed on to the generator to generate electricity. Finally, the generator send this to the electricity tower.
