The diagram illustrates the significant changes of the biomedical campus in a university, with the addition of medical facilities and more accessible roads for students. Overall, there are many buildings in three sections at present, compared to the emerging sections for all of the buildings in the future development.
The biggest section at the top of the biomedical campus includes the car park on the left – handed side, remaining unchanged at present and in the future. However, trees grown beside the present car park will be cut down and replaced by medical facilities, such as genetics 1 opposing the car park and bio-imaging building next to it. Moreover, there is a T-junction among three present biomedical blocks and a walkway separated by two smaller blocks. Compared to the present campus, there will not be any Y-junction, except the walkway leading to three future blocks. In addition, a car park for staff will be added outside the whole campus at the bottom right corner of the map.
The biotech will still be located as it is, but the shape of the biotech will be changed from a rectangular shape into an H – shaped building. The biotech is not the only building to be renovated, but the future biochemistry will also be changed in shape and expanded more than at present. Besides, some plants between the lab and the biochemistry facility will be removed in the future plan. In the planned biomedical campus, the genetics will be expanded into two buildings, with one at the top left of the campus, and the other in a rectangular shape at the same location.
