The two maps illustrate how the student common room has been developed over 5 years.
From an overall perspective, the student common room has been modernized and better equipped, with the addition of new facilities such as drinks machines and benches for laptops. Of particular note is that a relaxation opportunity for students with a television has been added.
Five years ago, there were four round tables around the center, surrounded by five chairs each, which gave students an opportunity to study and the bookshelf was in the south-east corner. A cupboard, sink, double bench, microwave, and refrigerator lined up from left to right at the top of the map.
However, there have been immense changes to the layout of this place. The noticeable change was the replacement of four round tables with one rectangular and two round tables, with six chairs each. The bookshelf has been removed to make way for a television zone with three chairs, and a newly-built drinks machine was erected to its north side. Although the cupboard, sink, refrigerator, and one bench remain intact, the microwave has been doubled, occupying the original site of the other bench. Ultimately, a section of bench for laptops also has been added to offer more convenience to the students.
