The two maps show the alteration in Felix Stone between 1967 and 2001. Overall, the area underwent significant transformation, with the introduction of modern recreational facilities, the removal of some traditional features, and the restructuring of coastal land use.
In 1967, the town offered limited facilities for its dwellers. A fish market was located along the seafront, next to a marina and a pier extending into the sea. A hotel stood further inland, next to a café. To the west of these structures, dunes and farmland occupied the open space, while a golf course was situated to the north. Additionally, shops lined both sides of High Street, which ran through the town.
By 2001, the landscape had been significantly altered. The fish market and marina had disappeared, and in their place was a public beach, adjacent to which a private beach had been designated. The pier remained intact, but a set of wind turbines had been installed near the dunes.
While the golf course and shops remained unchanged, the farmland was replaced by a modernized hotel, which had tennis courts and a swimming pool. Other alterations included the expansion of the hotel and its car park, which contributed to the urbanization of the town.
