The two illustrations provide the amount of train passengers between 2000 to 2009 and the proportion of trains on schedule. Overall, the number of train travellers remained constant with few lows and highs. While the performance of trains being on time was generally low, the target was met in occasional years, although the trend was incosistent.
From the begining of 2000, the number of passengers on the train were relatively modest around 40 billion, until the year 2002 where passenger numbers were dropping below 40. An inconsistent trend is followed over the period of nine years, yet 2005 was the peak year recording around 50 Billlion travellers who chose train as a means of transport. The data presents an overall steady pattern, despite significant variability in passenger volume during certain years.
In contrast, the situation for trains running on time was different. The target goal for trains was reached inconsistenlty around 95%, yet only after 2002 was the target reached and remained high for a period of 5 years. The schdeule then decreased and followed varying trends up until the year 2007, where it started increasing and 97% of trains were on time.
