The flowchart illustrates the operation of recycling aluminium cans. Overall, this process involves multiple stages, starting from collecting cans, followed by processing to ultimately making various recycled cans for sale again.
The initial stage begins with gathering the used cans from trashes and then transported to a special factory in order to cleaning, sorting and shredding them. Following this, the cleaned cans are put into the heating machine by a special employee of the factory and all of these are heated.
After the stages mentioned above, the cans are subjected to process through a rolling machine to ensure uniform thickness (2.5mm – 6mm). Subsequently, they are transported to recycling sector to make their appearance standard. This stage is so crucial because without stage, the cans can’t be ready to use.
The final stage is distributing them to supermarkets and selling to consumers. In addition 74% of aluminium cans are recycled in UK.
