The two piecharts depicts the percentage of employee by age in the public sector in the UK during the period of 2015 and 2020.
Overall, it is evident that the age group between 21-30 and over 50 represented the largest share employed in the public sector, whereas the staff employed under 21 were the lowest in 2015. Moreover, employee over 50 continued to hold the highest position in 2020, while under 21 remained lowest.
Turning to the details in 2015, it can be seen that staff between 21-30 and over 50 were at the highest of 23% to be hired. However, the percentage of 21-30 age group to be employed rose to 33% and over 50 to 36% in 2020. Similarly, staff aged between 41-50 was 19% in 2015, and went up by 9% after 5 years.
In contrast, under 21 age group hold the bottemed position at 14% in 2015, and went down slightly by 2% in 2020. Furthermore, in 2015 , 31 to 40 age group accounted for 21%, which continued to decline in 2020 to 11%.
