Overall, according to the given statistical information, men had by far the most participants compared to women. However in during of the given years the gap between these two groups had a significantly reduced. Also as it can be seen in the overall of participants and in the whole given years the number of competitors had a gradual increase.
In 1925, the amount of people who entered the Olympics were approximately 3000 which means men occupied about 99% and women accounted for an insignificant number in overall. However according to the given data, in 1952 as it can be observed, at the same time with growing amount of participants in Olympics, the numbers of female and male had a rise about by 500 and 4200 respectively.
Another noticeable trend, in 1984 female participants saw a twofold rise in comparison with 1952 and also the figures for male competitors saw an increase. In 2012 the amount of players experienced a pick and as it is clear female players had a soar trend, in other words, it had threefold growth in compered to 1984. Also male competitors had an upward trend. 2012 was the only year which the difference between two genders of players was at the least amount in the whole time span.
