The graph illustrates the past and displayed diagrams of the government spending as a proportion of GDP between 2000 and 2025 in education, health, and roads, and railways.
Overall, the percentage of spending in health followed an upward trend throughout the given period, whereas education, roads, and railways showed a downward trend.
Government spent 4% in roads and railways and health in 2000. The proportion started to escalate sharply for the next five years in health and then witnessed a gradual increase, a trend which continued for year on year, reaching an all-time high of around 7.5% in 2025. Despite majority of spent in education in early 2000, this was surpassed by health at the end of the period. It hovered around 4% for the final decade of the period. However, most of the time the rate fluctuated for roads and railways and reached an all time low of 3% in 2010. Though the proportion slowly climbed for the remainder of the period, it laid down below the education during this period.
