Applications to 3 US Universities
The bar graph compares the number of applicants on various subjects who applied three major universities located at the USA over a period of 20 years. Overall, it is clear that the level of applications for business and social work fields increased between 1990 and 2010. By contrast, it is interesting to note that the ratio for biology and engineering declined over the same period shown.
Looking at the bar graph in more detail, the number of students who applied business facultystood at 2000 in 1990 and this figure rose from 3000 in 2000 to 4000, a rise of 1000 in 2010. Moreover, there was a moderate increase for social work applicants from 1000 in 1990 to around 1900 in 2010, a rise of 900 over the provided years.
It could be explained by the fact that number of engineering applications was 4000 in 1990 and this figure dropped sharply from 2500 in 2000 to nearly 600 in 2010. Furthermore, the number of applicants who were interested in biologydeclined twofold from3000 to 1500 in 2000 and this figure was followed by a slight decline, reaching 900 in 2010.
