The line graph and chart depict the data about worldwide 3 D displays and 3D movie releases. Overall, there were the same positive trends in both categories over the period, although the trends specifically were more varied in the 3D movie’s premiere.
The usage of 3D screens and the releasing of 3D films showed the increasing trends over the period. Initially, both categories remained at the least level over the first four years. For the 3D screens utilization, it gradually rose to around 2000 in 2008, and the same pattern also occurred with the 3D film releases, which slightly climbed to roughly 5 in the same year. In the second period, there were dramatic changes in two categories. The trends showed positive improvement either in the usage of 3D displays or the 3D film releases. As seen from the data, the 3D installations rose globally from a low of under 10.000 in 2009 to a peak of close to 40.000 by the end of the period, and with the releasing of 3D movies, the data showed the sharp increases for action-packed movies, which reached a peak at about half over 70 in 2012. Although lower than action movies, the 3D animation films also significantly rose from 10 to around half under 30 in the same year.
For the 3D cinema releases there were different trends between two genres of movie. In the first five years, although still small in number, the release of 3D animation dominated the film market. However, from 2008, live action movies overtook the rank. As seen from the figures, action-packed movies dramatically climbed from around 15 in 2008 to over 70 in 2011. It was a striking gap compared to the animation, which only rose around 15 by 2011. The increases were almost more than a half in comparison.
