The graph depicts the water usage per year (measured in millions of cubic meters) by various industries in serveral regions.
The industry that has the heaviest use of water is the chemicals industry. They use over 600 million cubic meters of water per year. Conversely, the fuel businesses consume the least amount of water, accounting for 80 million cubic meters, almost one-eighth of that in the chemicals counterpart. Other fields of businesses such as food/drinks, metal and paper recorded a moderate usage of water of around 200-300 million cubic meters. While textiles and machinery industry consumed slight amount of water of 90 and 110 million cubic meters respectively.
Most of the ground water is used in the chemical field, contributing 430 million cubic meters, while in the field of machinery only uses 10 million cubic meters. On the other hand, most of the public supply water is taken up by metal industry (240 million cubic meters) whereas both the field of fuel and textiles only consumed 10 million cubic meters of water each.
To conclude, the industry of chemicals rely the most on water while the industry of fuel rely the least. Overall, in terms of the source of water, ground water is more commonly consumed by various industries than publiy supply water.
