The bar chart illustrates the amount of water used by seven different industries in some countries, which is measured in millions of cubic metres.
Overall, it is readily apparent that water usage in the chemical sector accounted for the highest numbers of both ground water and public supply. While the metal, paper, textiles and fuel industry rely mainly on ground water sources, the remaining seem to use public supply most.
Concerning industries with considerable numbers of water consumption, the chemicals sector uses around 430 cubic metres of ground water and 240 cubic metres of public supply, recording the most usage of all categories. At the second highest figures, The metal industry with the usage of ground water at 240 and public supply at 90, while food and drinks sector shows the reverse trend when consuming water in public supply accounts of 190, higher than those in ground water.
Regarding the remaining industries, the amount of water usage in the paper industry gives a significant difference between ground water and public supply, at around 190 and only 20, respectively. Similarly with the water usage numbers in textiles and fuel sector, consuming at 70-80 for ground water and only 10 for public supply. However, the machinery sector displays the opposite when public supply water dominates the ground one, about 100 and just 10, respectively.
