The bar chart compares how to cope with waste in various ways in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and the UK.
Overall, recycling is the most widely used in the Netherlands,whereas in the other three countries the waste was landfilled the most.
The proportion of waste landfilled in the UK was significant higher than Italy,Spain and the Netherlands.Almost 65% of waste was landfilled,while this figure in Italy and Spain was an equal share of 40%.In contrast, landfilling was the least popular method in the Netherlands, it was only around 8%.In the UK,the solution of waste burnt account for only 4%,was the lowest share.This figure in the Netherlands made up 10%,while in Italy was just above 20% and the waste burnt in Spain was triple proportion compared to the Netherlands.Using waste as chemicals in Italy and Spain was almost the same percentage.The rate of this methods was around 18% in the UK, in the Netherlands it was slightly lower, was roughly by 3%.
Recycling was the most popular way to deal with waste in the Netherlands, it accounted for just under 70%.While 20% of waste was recycled in Italy, which showed a higher proportion than the UK,by around 5% .In Spain this way was the lowest figure,it was just over 10%.
