The line graph illustrates the consumption of energy in the UK by fuel such as; the coal, petrol and oil, natural gas, nuclear and solar wind, and hydropower, from 1978 to the future predication for 2038.
Overall, the energy consumption in UK throughout the period remained same for three fuel (petrol and oil, coal, natural gas) with decreased in early years to significant rose in projections year, while the least consumption was observed from nuclear, solar and wind, and hydropower from 1978 to 2038.
In 1978, the energy consumption of petrol and oil was approximately 35 quadrillion units, while of both coal and natural gas consumption was around 20 and 15 quadrillion units. However, consumption fluctuated from the year 1983, but showed marked rose for petrol and oil, reaching almost 50 quadrillion units by 2038. There was not significant increased in natural gas and coal consumption for the same period, almost 23 and 25 quadrillion units respectively.
On the other hand, the remaining three fuel: such as nuclear, solar and wind, and hydropower were same in the year 1978, with just around 3 quadrillion units and remained stable with slight variation in solar and hydropower. there was a slight increase in nuclear and solar consumption reaching at almost 6 units by 2038 year, while hydropower remained same in the same year.
