The data presents the amount of potatoes, pasta and rice, in terms of grams per person per week, eaten in a European country from 1976 to 2006.
Overall, the quantity of pasta eaten in a week steadily increased. Despite this, the use of potatoes and rice significantly decreased.
As can be seen, the average grams of pasta used per person per week in 1976 was about 280, from there it constantly rose until 1996, when it reached the quantity of 500 grams per week and stabilized to this value until 2006. On the other hand, the eating of rice slowly declined from 300 grams per person weekly to around 180 grams in 1996, and went up again to just above 200 grams in 2006. Regarding potatoes, in 1976 a total of slightly more than 400 grams were eaten per week, it peaked in 1981 with a value of about 450 grams to then have a dramatic decrease until 2006, when it reached 100 grams of potatoes eaten every week by a single person.
