The bar graph illustrates the average class size of both the primary and lower secondary school in 6 nations and compared them with average class size of the world in the year of 2006.
As the graph suggests, South Korea possessed the largest class room in the both primary and lower secondary category compared to others, while the classroom size in Iceland was smallest in the world. Uniquely, in Denmark and UK the primary school classrooms were bigger in size in comparison to lower secondary school.
Comparing with the world average classroom size South Korea and Japan had larger classrooms. While the primary school class room capacity in South Korea was nearly 34 persons, in Japan it was around 27 people. In the lower secondary school category, it was just above 35 and just over 30 for South Korea and Japan respectively.
In contrast, the rest of the four nations, namely UK, Denmark, Mexico and Iceland, had classrooms that was less in capacity as compared to the world average classroom size in both categories. In this group, UK had primary classrooms that could hold more students and it was approximately 22. On the other hand, the secondary school size in Mexico was as high as about 31.
