The line graph presents the price history of three valuable metals – gold, platinum, and palladium over a period of nine years, ranging from 2013 to 2021.
Overall, out of the three metals, the monetary value of palladium has boosted the most and the value of platinum has significantly decreased, whereas the value of gold has gradually increased by the year 2021.
In the beginning, palladium was valued the lowest when compared to the other two metals, with the value at just under $750 per ounce in the year of 2013 and dipped slightly under $550 in 2016. After 2016, palladium had a dramatic rise in price reaching almost $2500 per ounce in 2021, surpassing platinum and gold .
In 2013, gold and platinum had a similar monetary start, but gold led price-wise, where their cost was just slightly below $1500 for an ounce. Gold fell lower than platinum in the year of 2015, costing around $1000 and held a steady decrease in amount when compared to start of the period till the final year where gold concluded its price to be just above $1000. Platinum on the other hand, gradually witnessed a rise in value from just under $1500 to approximately $1800 from the year 2019 to 2020 and maintained a steady pace from 2020 to 2021.
