The line graph illustrates how much fish and various kinds of meat are eaten in a European country from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, there was a decrease in the consumption of beef, lamb and fish, while a gradual rise was seen in chicken. Additionally, beef was consumed the most among the 4 categories, but it was surpassed by chicken to have the highest figures from 1989 onwards .
The lamb consumption started at 150 grams per person per week in 1979,after which it experienced a marginal drop by around 80 grams 15 years later, before ending the period at about 60 grams. The similar changes, but to a much lesser extent, was seen in the figures for fish, declining slightly throughout the 25 years period and ending at precisely 50 grams in 2004.
Roughly 210 grams of beef was eaten per capita per week in 1979, with a subsequent fluctuation 10 years later and a final decline from approximately 195 to about 125 grams in 2004. The figure for chicken saw an opposite trend, rising sharply from shy of 150 in 1979 to around 235 grams in 1994, before reaching the peak at about 250 grams at the end of the period.
