The line chart given compares the amount of four types of meat which was consumed by people weekly in a European colony over 25 years.
It is evident that while there was a considerable reduction in the consumption of fish, lambs and beef, chicken was more popular among residents and reached the highest peak at the end of the period.
According to the graph, from 1979 to 1984, there was a wild fluctuation in the number of beef consumed by people per week; however, that of lamb showed the decline virtually.Over the subsequent years, both beef and lamb had the same downward trend, then take a plunge at over 100 and 60 units respectively in 2004.
Also, the grams of fish consumed decreased slightly by approximately 20 units but remained static in general .
On the contrary, starting from just under 150 grams, the consumption of chicken enjoyed a strong, steady growth over the whole period, followed by the highest peak at 250 grams in the end of 2004
