In general, the proportion of total travelers in car experienced a dramatically increase during this period. On the other hand, the percentage of individuals who used bike and foot saw a negative trend. The figure for traveling by bus fluctuate over the four decades.
Looking at the information in more detail, the largest proportion was traving by foot, accounted for nearly 33%, almost a third in 1960, follwed by bike and bus, consisting of around 25% and roughly 18%, respectively. The figure for car was the lowest, at merely 5% at that time.
On the other hand, traveling by car gained widespread popularity throughtout the entire period. The proportion of traveling by car increased dramatically from around 5% to 35%. There was a significantly decline of nearly 24% and 20%,respectively, in the figure for traveling by foot and bike. The percentage of total travelers transpoting by bus reached its peak at 25% in the first decade, and there was a decline of roughly 10% during the following decade.
